I saw the highlights from EPL last night, and I must say almost all goals were very beautiful. I dont really find the EPL charming, but what beautiful goals the first week displayed...

Well that all depends if this transfer means Corluka is going to Tottenham. City's in some financial trouble, not looking good for them

Mickaël Silvestre transferred from ManU to Arsenal becoming the first player to do so since 1974.

Comments? Well he's no superstar but he's a really decent player, and direct transfers to a rival club are not so frequent in the EPL.
Unlike for instance Bayern who buy whom they want when they want. Or the deals in Italy

It is interesting to know how much they had to pay for him...I consider Silvestre a good defender and he will be very useful for Arsenal´s young team...

Transfermarkt says the transfer fee was 950,000 € . Seems fair.

Thats a real bargain for Arsenal if that is the true price for Silvestre!

I just read £700k...I think it is a pretty cheap deal. But as Ferguson said, we didnt want to make things hard for Silvestre as he has been loyal ever since he came. Interesting to see he went to Arsenal, and if he will be a regular...?

Things are not going all too well for Tottenham. Berbatov was not even called up signaling he will probably be leaving. Newcastle got a nice win over Bolton as did both Stoke City and Fulham. Very impressive wins over 2 very good sides in Aston Villa and Arsenal. Great to see Liverpool win again although Stevie G had to rescue the Reds in the 93rd minute but a nice comeback nonetheless - scoring 2 goals in the last 10 minutes to give Rafa 3 points.

Thats a very good win for City and should take some pressure off Hughes and the management.

Chelsea had a slight 1-0 win over Wigan earlier on today aswell with Deco having another good game getting a goal.

I saw highlights of the West Ham - Blackburn game.... it was 2-1 at the 91st minute but then a foul led to a big clearance to the other side of the pitch and Bellamy rifled the ball in and then 2 minutes later Behrami made a nice move on the right and crossed it in and eventually Cole converted to give a 4-1 win. Blackburn were unlucky with the final result - not as bad as it first looks. Also saw Arsenal - Newcastle highlights.... Arsenal played really well and scored 2 really nice goals - Newcastle were unfortunate to get a penalty against them as was unintentional but Van Persie converted and that set them on their way. Wigan got a nice away win as did Portsmouth which is great to see

As soon as Ćorluka found out that Spurs want him he decided to leave City. The City manager (Hughes) was pissed off because they were selling one of the club's best defenders behind his back.

Ćorluka considers Tottenham to be a much bigger club (and they offered him a bigger paycheck than what he got at City) and wanted to play with Luka Modrić with who he played with at Dinamo Zagreb. They are known to be best friends.

When Shinawatra's assets got frozen there was a sense that many City players will leave but when Hughes found out that the club has been sold to a rich consortium that are willing to back him up with funds and assured him that a replacement will be brought in he gave his consent to allow Ćorluka to join Spurs. City's new right back is the Argentinean Pablo Zabaleta who arrived yesterday from Espanyol.
