I have full faith in this team, although today we looked like an average mid-table team except for a few quality moments from quality individuals. Reggina were as woeful as their league position suggests and there's not much we can take from this performance. Juve will be the complete opposite.

In terms of the defence, we have yet to find the regular back four. For me, it should be Radu - Rozehnal - Cribari - Lichtsteiner. With ijuries it can shuffle about, but Kolarov is too attacking, Siviglia is too old, Diakite is too young, De Silvestri is suspect at the back. I could find fault with the four men I've suggested too but for me they can still improve, can still peak and they need to be played regularly to get the best out of them.

The mdifield was ok today but we need more from them. In attack, we had 3 men playing with their brains and it paid dividends. I still feel we need at least one man to play with heart and instinct (Foggia) but the tridente did better than I thought.

Vast improvement is necessary for Juve. I think we have a chance against them for a variety of reasons but will we on the basis of this performance? Quite simply, no.

But I think we should give more chances to Diakite although he made a foolish mistake again.

Biggest thing about today's win is that you can now see a bit of a gap between the Top 7 (which we're in) and the rest. It's a mammoth task now for Palermo, Catania, Atalanta, Sampdoria, Cagliari and Udinese to get back in the hunt.

We need to push on from here and take something from Juve. We then have the fixtures to pick up colossal points and put ourselves ahead in the chase for Europe.

If these figures are correct then be surprised.

Zarate is top of the assist table with 5 assists.

Only two other players have managed more than 1 assist, Lichsteiner and Foggia.

Pandev, Brocchi, Mauri, Kolarov and Meghni all have one.

This is a ridiculusly low number of assists but a lot of our goals have been from the ball breaking in the box rather than good build up play.

Pretty sure today's game is not included in those figures, so Zarate is miles clear and yet some call him selfish???

As usual I agree mostly with Matrim !

I think that this was probably the best 1st half we played this season and I was happy to see that we played to our maximum on the day for the entire 90 minutes.

At times the possesion play was a joy to watch, but as Matrim said, we should have tried to be a bit more direct. Both on counters, but also trying the long shot once in a while. There were plenty of opportunities for that.

The defence remains a joke. Two ridiculous mistakes today that both resulted in goals. At the second for Reggina, both Radu and Diakité managed to screw up big time. Reggina were horrible today, so allowing them 2 goals and only securing the win in the last 15 minutes isn´t good enough. This game should never have been in doubt...

But 3 points is 3 points. Forza Lazio

Depends on the definition of direct to me. We should have shot from range a lot more. We were trying to work our way round their defence. Fine, we grabbed 3 goals but we got them by shooting from distance or taking them out wide.

Rossi said himself we were "too cute" today. Totally agree with him, we could have had even more success with a forceful attack.

im very pleased with our players motivation...i think that they all give 100%...also im very pleased with Zarate's passing :)...Pandev was full with energy and like a world class player...but i think we need just one more world class defender and Veron

Just out of interest, I was looking for our last hat-trick in the league and I think it was by Rocchi in the 5-3 defeat to Lecce (I blame Oscar Lopez, Lequi and Seric for that!) on 1/5/2005.

Also, in 2006-07 season, we beat Reggina away 2-3 with the goals going in in the same order: 0-1, 1-1, 1-2, 2-2, 2-3, the marvelous Makinwa got the winner! Foggia scored one of Reggina's of course!

that was back when super Zdenek Zeman was in charge of Lecce huh, at Olimpico it finished 3-3, at Via del Mare, we lost 5-3. Zeman's teams always ended in crazy scorelines.

Makinwa's goal to beat Reggina was of some quality!! Why did he never do that again?? No

Well remembered! I looked that one up, it was in 2002 and we were 3-0 up after 37 minutes and then Couto got an own-goal and then Emre got 2 in the 2nd half (an amazing chip and one from outside the box)... Corradi hit the bar after they got back to 3-2.. grrrr....

affraid I just watched it! He started the move, carried on his run towards goal, tricked the defender with a cut back and then finished powerfully. The Makinwa of today wouldn't start the move, would have his back to goal and would then let the ball bounce off him and that would be that!
