overall we got what we wanted - CBs, midfielders - Golasa and Hitzelsburger :) and an attacker - Super Sergio :) a good job by the management, could have been better but none the less they get a "well done" from me.

some of you are slamming Lotito for missing Ederson - well fellas there are two sides of a coin you know. Tare said we made an offer and everything was in Lyon's hands. They didn't want to let him go so...now you are gonna say we should have made a better one - well if we had and he came here and at the end of the season where could we get around 20 mil for the buy-out clauses of Floccari and Ederson. Face it - we are not a rich club and we can't afford to splash out money.

now...a huge mistake is leaving Ledesma with us. If we don't plan to put him back on the field it's a minus for Lotito-Tare, cause in the summer we are going to get less for him.

some one said that we should offload Baronios to bologna. well who are we gonna play in his position? even if hitz proves to be a good signing he would need a sub now and then. not to mention that hitz right now sucks and that is why stuttgart let him go so easily and I wouldn't be surprised if Baronios is in better form than him.

Yeah i think overall it's a good mercato.

Expectations were very low for me and having 2-3 new midfielders and 2 new CB upgrade (a lot better than Cribari at least) is quite good.
Not to mention we got Floccari.

Let's support these guys now and hope they can salvage our season!

PS: Baronio does not deserve the insults. Yeah he's sub-par but without him we would've be in relegation zone by now. We scored quite a few goals from his set pieces.

Absolutly okey mercato according to me. We needed a goalscorer Sergio has proven to be one. We was in need of mid's Hitz is a good signing for the money we gave it is worth the risk and he has big experience and will have motivation to proove he deserves a place in his NT. If Eguren can start playing he to is verry good addition to our team he is the one to take dabo and brocchi of the pitch. Then Golasa and Barreto both can become superstars they atleast have the potential so worth giving them a chance. The defence sure it has not been looking to good during play but hey still we are conseeding verry few goals so they must still be doing something right? Never seen Dias play but from hearing he has been in all star teams etc he shouldn't be that bad? Don't have anything against any of our new players. The bad thing during this mercato was that we once again failed to offload all our deadwood.

We could not sell Ledesma. Now we will have to make sure he signs a contract extension and lotito the dumb old man needs to make peace.

Indeed, I'm happy we got a player who has been first choice CB in last years best Brazilian team (winning league titles 06,07,08).

He won twice the best defender of the league prize (08 and 09!!) and was nominated last seasons All Star XI!

sounds pretty damn solid and promising to me, considering that Italian Serie A and Brazilian Serie A are about the same level of quality

I don't believe that there is any chance of Ledesma returning. I dream of it, but we have to be realistic, there is no chance of that happening..

it still vexxes me that ederson didnt arrive...we had a potential superstar in the making literally knocking on our door begging us to let him in....and lotito turned him down...instead we aquire 2 defenders...which are 29 and 32....2 kids....hitz is a touch of magic....still would trade all the transfers but hitz for ederson...what a disapointment....

we didn't really need andre dias...our defensive department is quality this year...stendardos renaissance and radu's potential finally being realized gave the team the back bone it needed. granted biava was a good pick up for depth purposes but lotito addressed the wrong problem. Our initial problem was attack...he did so with floccari but we also needed a proper 3/4ista. matuzalem isnt a natural 3/4ista nor is he fit enough each year. now we're stuck with mauri once again. Lyon didn't like our offer bro, and have in mind that when you want someone the club might not let him go..dias was brought up in the last hours so i think he came in the non eu spot from ederson

honestly i'm happier that we finally did something for out defensive line. yes, they are on the older side, but tactically it's at least sensible. and thought hitzlsperger's been riding the bench, i feel like he's competent and offers more than baronio, firmani or brocchi (thought the latter two sure have some fight in them).

I'm really happy with this mercato. Compared to our last few this has been a major success. I'm also happy we signed older centre backs. What we need right now are experienced defenders and even if they only have a few good years in them they will be perfect until Radu and Diakite are ready to step in full time. Perfect solution.
