| I saw today that Mauri is close to a contract extension until 2014!? I agree with you guys. I have nothing against the guy, in fact I still see him as a decent enough player (although not a starter), but for him to be getting an extension worth I don't know how much, and for key players like Muslera, Kolarov and Diakite, who are continuously being linked to moves away from Lazio due to their low salaries, is beyond ridiculous to say the least. Surely Lotito can increase their salaries first. What the fuck is he running? | |

I nearly fell off my chair I hope one day I'll be able to survive on a 250k a year salary and manage to avoid poverty while doing it.
I am never going to feel sympathy for a footballer with concerns to his pay. The wages are disguisting, espescially while the world is in a recession and 'real' people are losing their jobs and can barely pay their mortgages. ha3 Gio What I am trying to say is that, footballer career spans between 10-15 years, then what, surely they want to make the most of it while they can..
Of course 250k a year would be massive for us, but considering the likes of John Terry, who is reportedly earning around 250k/week, then 250k/season doesn't really look big, does it? I knew what you were saying, just that line cracked me up, it reminded me of when Jaap Stam's agent wanted a bigger contract for him and the owed wages and he stated that Stam 'still had to buy groceries' Muslera should get a new contract, however, I always feel that contracts should be negotiated during the summer and that during the season they should just focus on playing football.

| I don't see how hard is it to see that you have a player performing very well the last season and a half, he's 22 ( I think) and he's a NT player are you are being stubborn and not offering him a new contract when this season probably he's the best one in the team | |

| What puzzles me most is that EVERYONE can see that the contract situation at the club has been up the shoot for a while except those that make the decisions. I suppose they are all on the same medicine that Balla has been taking.
Good players that perform = new contracts to keep them at the club and to have fair conditions where the best performers are the highest earners. Bad players and deadwood = get the hell out of here!

Mauri just renewed his contract to 2014? EDIT: No, I just saw he hadn't signed yet. But the agent says that the deal is almost done.

| Lotito will meet with Fonseca soon to try and extend Muslera's contract beyond June 2012. Claudio better do everything he has to in order to keep Nando at Lazio, and do it fast. The World Cup is looming fast. He has been a star for us over the last season and a half and fully deserves a higher salary. Grande Muslera! | |

| Have no doubt that many other good teams have been eyeing him off. Fonseca too will probably put him in the shop windw (expect a few articles on goal.com and italian newspapers). As Boris said, Lotito better not fuck this one up. | |

| I just want to note how important player is already Muslera for us. And all his behaviour is illustration of how should one professional player look. Very quite , determined to just improve his skills , after his awful start with Lazio and all negativism towards him , today he is our most important player and I wish he stays long time with us. Everyone is talking about Zarate prodigy these days , or who should be our captain.... If this boy stays with us , he is the perfect captain for the future and as some guy said today in the chatroom , what defence, Muslera is 50 % of the defence..... | |
