| I wouldn't get too carried away with the Escudero rumour, can't see it happening although I hope.
I am expecting loan/co-ownership deals and not transfers unless we sell one or two players. Elano and Dubarbier are more realistic than Escudero.

Bojinov?? Are we becoming S.S.Lazio nursing home??? No, seriously, we should be doing some research before signing any players.. Bojinov may be a good player, but he somehow prone to injuries..I'd rather have Makinwa, at least we're not nursing him (and paying his salary) at the same time..

I agree frederick , first we don't need him , second I am sick with those fragile players in our team. One more is too much. I strongly belief this just a some fiction , it's sounds quite unrealistic for me.

| we do not need any attacker. We have what we need already, and we should start playing players fromour own rank if we end up with injuries etc.
We need one good CD (we needed that from the start of this season. Diakite is not good and mature enough to be a regular starter, and we do not have one that we can say is an unquestionable choice). We also need a Ledesma replacement, or at least a midfielder that could take his spot if and when needed (am nottalking about replacing him, but finding competition and aletrnatives) and we need a winger for themidfield. But more than anything, we must get rid of players before making any moves. No matter how excited I would be over Escudero or Elano or whoever, we have too many players in the squad as it is...

Haha! Thanks. You've just described my dream job. Sporting director of Lazio, but I could imagine myself as president of Lazio too. In January I just hope we trim down the squad and add some quality. That's my first order of business as new DS.

| Always hoped to see Bojinov at Lazio!
That was, until now. He's missed 18 months of competitive football.
However, if he comes on the cheap and needs to kickstart his career, it's a risk worth taking.

Very interesting comment Cash. The problem we have so far is at the back, none of our CB are regulars. We always have 2 different CB partnership at the back. The lack of communication between Carrizo and both defenders didn't help either. I would hoping if we could get a quality CB, an established one, not another 19-20 years old CB who's yet to make a mark in Serie A. If only we bought Chiellini 2 seasons ago (I'm dreaming again).. For this January, get a decent CB, trim down the squad (would it be cheaper to release them from their contract? rather than keeping them on the bench???) and more consistency!! Forza Lazio and Happy New Year to you all

Forza Lazio and Happy New Year to you all As far as I know to rescind a players' contract you have to compensate them with the remainder of his wages left on the contract, i may be wrong but that is my understanding. We definately need a 'leader' style centreback, one that will cement his place at the back, and I guarantee that we will be more solid and Carrizo will perform better too. It's unthinkable to constantly change our back line. If Delio doesn't know our 1st 11 by now then he never will!

| Correct Gio, contracts can be rescinded but on the condition that wages for remainder of the contract are paid in full.
An alternative is "mutual termination". If player and club agrees on a sum of money to let the individual leave the club then that is also valid I believe.

| Samp linked with Tommaso and Emilson. The former has stated his desire to end his career with Lazio.
Battaglia, midfielder at Boca Juniors, is the focus of transfer speculation at the minute.
Makinwa and Manfredini still being linked with Chievo, Inzaghi now linked with Siena. Inzaghi is free to leave in the summer so I'm guessing a deal could be done.

| We've been linked with Battaglia in previous mercati.
Tommaso Rocchi shouldn't go under any circumstances, Cribari should stay unless we get offered decent money from Spartak Moscow. If they want to give us 10m euro then cash in asap, but otherwise, he's a solid CB who plays for the team so keep him.
Makinwa will be gone. Just a matter of time. Think the issue there is Chievo want a loan, we want to sell, so it may take time to finalize.
Hope Inzaghi can be sold so we get a couple hundred thousand euro transfer fee but I suspect he'll want to stay until his contract ends in June. We all know he enjoys his ridiculously high wages.
Bojinov is an intriguing one. Personally I wouldn't bother unless we sign him on a one-year deal cheap with an option for another year. Loan is no good cause if he fires for us, Citeh will just take him back and/or slap a massive fee on his head which we can't afford. That's all assuming he can find fitness, due to return this month I think.
I try and avoid news cause these rumours go round in circles.
Plus we need a CB and the lack of apparent action in that department concerns me. I want Tonel, or failing that, grab someone from Serie B.

| Di Vaio is too old .. he and players like Vieri and Corradi are good for clubs like Bologna, Chievo and Reggina, but if they make a transfer to a big club at this age they won't score as much as they do with the little clubs .. | |

The best "old" player on that list would be Frick because he never had the fame the other elders had and he might be quite willing to sit on a bench if it involves a European campaign. He's a solid performer and a good back up for a team like us, but yeah, Di Vaio wouldn't be suitable. Bizzarri and Silvestri of Catania will cause a jumbo sale if their contracts aren't extended. I expect Lotito will be monitoring lists like this. We all know he likes his loans and his freebees!

| Lazio Keen On Boca Midfielder Battaglia
Boca Juniors midfielder Sebastian Battaglia, has attracted the attention of Serie A club Lazio, and the Italians are hoping to count with his services in 2009.
Lazio are looking for a capable foreigner to reinforce their midfield, and Battaglia is said to be their main priority.
Battaglia (28) was in extraordinary form as Boca Juniors clinched the Argentine Apertura Championship, after a decisive three-way playoff with San Lorenzo and Tigre.
The former Villarreal player has become hot property in recent months, and it was reported that he is being observed by none other than European champions Manchester United. Italian giants AC Milan are also in the race to secure his signature.
Martin Guastadisegno, the agent of the player, admitted that he is in negotiations with a couple of European clubs, and that a deal could be finalised within weeks.
If Battaglia joins Lazio he will be the fourth Argentine in the squad, after Juan Pablo Carrizo, Mauro Zarate, and Cristian Ledesma.

| I hope there's some clout to that link, I think we're all interested in a viable option to back up Ledesma. I've watched him play for Boca and he seems solid, good range of passing and covers the backline very well. I'd say he's one our best options. | |

I see your point, but for me, no. If we want someone who can fill Ledesma's shoes, who could play alongside him, who has talent and will develop, it's Cabaye. Battaglia is a bit on the old side and I don't trust players who move conitinents several times before their peak.

| There is an amazing player from Chile.. Valdivia... here is some info about him.. he is the next best thing guys! AMAAAZING Midfielder! Jorge Luis Valdivia Toro Born: October 19, 1983 in Maracay, Venezuela Quick Info: Chilean international football player, who currently plays for Al-Ain FC (UAE) as an attacking midfielder. Nicknamed 'El Mago' (The Magician), Valdivia previously played for Universidad de Concepción, Rayo Vallecano in Spain, Colo-Colo in Chile, Servette FC in Switzerland and Palmeiras in Brazil. After winning the 2006 Apertura tournament with Colo-Colo, Valdivia was sold to Palmeiras for a transfer fee of $3.5 million and will make $400,000 annually. He quickly became a fan favourite at Palmeiras due to his great skills, and he was considered the team's most important player and of the best players in the Brazilian Série A during the year 2007. He had an excellent São Paulo State Championship in 2008 and was a key part of the winning Palmeiras side. He was linked with a move to Europe, namely with Hertha Berlin. He has a similar playing style to Tomas Rosicky and his dribbling has been compared to that of Lionel Messi. He also possesses an accurate shot. Al-Ain FC On August 15th, Goal.com announced that Jorge Valdivia is moving to Al Ain in the UAE league. Al Ain will pay up to € 8 million to Palmeiras. On August 17th , Valdivia has put pen to paper when he signed a 4 year contract for € 17 million that should keep him with Al-Ain FC till 2012 .By signing this contract he is the second most expensive player in the UAE league. On his first match with Al Ain he quickly won the heart of the fans with his astonishing skills and his trademark free kick on Sharjah FC on the last minute of the first half. His Second match with Al Ain was against Al-Shabab after almost a one month pause due to injury and international call-ups. In that match Jorge was tackeled more than once from more than 5 different players and was by far the man of the match scoring two goals, one was from his trademark free-kick and the other was a goal of high control when he controlled the ball with his thigh and did not hesitate to score his third goal in just two matches. Look at this video and dont tell me this is a player waiting to explode ! He REMINDS ME OF MARADONA!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI0wRvtb5lY | |
