Also there I read that Lotito said that Lazio is almost out of the financial debt and everything will be paid off by the end of next season and also soon there will be negotiations with Pandev for a new contract .. hope it's true
clubs who want pandev must pay something round 20 mil. not less.

i feel confident about that. Even if he does sign a new contract any player can be sold for the right price. Remember all of those years ago Nedved signed a new deal with us then was sold to Juve... Do not get attached to any player be it Pandev, De Silvestri etc everyone can be sold at any time. Just remember its not about players that come and go its about the club even though i'd love to see Zarate and Pandev end their careers here i know realistically its not going to happen and sooner or later they both will be at different clubs. Just enjoy every moment that they are with Lazio!

| You are right about players leaving every now and then and without notice these days, but if we aim to become a team belonging to the top and also build a strong feeling and atmosphere it is crucial that the core of the team stays the same for some years. One or two starting players will be replaced each year, but consistency is the key to success. Any succesful team builds on this idea and philosphy - therefore we must stick to players and not just reason that figures, in this case key figures, come and go and that we cannot do anything to change this. If we are to play the role as a team finding and producing talents, letting them get used to il calcio and then sending them away without a struggle we will have to wait a long time before we will see Lazio among the top teams year after year. I do not live in a weird reality where I think we will be winning the scudetto year in and year out (remember we have only had two in more than 100 years) but progress is the main target and to reach that we must develop a strategy bringing fans to the stadio with a constant flow and keeping players with us before, during and in some cases even after their peak.
I am an anti-Lotito Laziale, but I do understand that he has been good for our finances. Generally, I think Lotito has done a good job on that part, but with him in charge we will never be able to keep players, which we we need to do, and with the constant conflicts we will suffer in crowd and atmospehere, even though things look pretty bright at the moment with the many season tickets and the brilliant start with the new young and hungry players. Lotito should keep himself in the background focusing on the economy etc, and we should get another "president" taking care of the football matters (I know it is utopia considering the maniac who is in charge of EVERYTHING at the moment).

Interesting... the way I see it, if Lazio are still in the top 2 come January, Lotito might sign a couple of players in areas which we aren't as strong as we could be (ie. defence and defensive midfield). this would be a big help for a very unlikely tilt at Lo Scudetto. At the very least, it'll help secure a CL place by reducing the chances that we fall away in 2009.

| Everything depends on the first half of the season. As I've said before this year serie A is a hornets nest with 10 potential CL candidates (milan, juve, inter, viola, roma, lazio, palermo, genoa, udinese and napoli).
If you look at it from a realistic point of view 1 position is 100% taken (inter) and the other is 95% taken (milan). What's left is 8 teams fighthing for 2 tickets.
Strong candidates:
- Roma (-) current CL engagement (+) great squad. - Viola (-) current CL engagement (+) great squad. - Juve (-) current CL engagement (-) not so great squad (-) injuries to Trez and Chielini.
Outsiders:
- Lazio (-) weak defense. (+) Zarate - Pandev - Rocchi. - Napoli (-) weak defense. (+) superstrong at home, good attack, Hamsik!! - Udinese (-) Uefa cup (+) best run club in Serie A? - Palermo (-) Zamparini and a so - so 1:st eleven (+) Zamparini and his wallet. - Genoa (-) Squad hasn't gelled (+) but what a squad!!!
The outsiders have one advantage over the strong and that is that they are all involved in the current CL and that could very well be the factor that overflows the cup for Juve and Viola.
If you are looking at the transfermarket and what could benefit Lazio then it would be more quality in defense and possibly in the midfield. What I wouldn't give to have Oddo (as he was when he played for us) and Favalli (as he was when he played for us) as fullbacks and Veron as playmaker instead of Ledesma.

Probably the same thing which is wrong the Ledesma to juve rumour which exists despite rube having 5 more than decent players for his position - journalists making stuff up.

| I am very tired of Ledesma and his constant up and down in quality. In pre-season I really hoped for a CB, and I still think we need to make the squad stronger there. Apart from that I hope that Rossi and Lottito keep their eyes and ears open and if Ledesma continues to give so diverse performances (our "heart" must be more reliable than only playing good every now and then) I hope we start looking for someone to at least compete with Ledesma over that spot that he right now has monopoly on. I think real competition also would mean him performing better. As well as beeing brilliant, he is awful sometimes and I guess that goes for all players but as it is today a decent replacement could step in the days when Ledesma is not giving his best. | |

| i have to say that in january we need to buy 1 or 2 defenders and 1 defenceise midfilder becasue attacking wise i think we are among the strongest attacks in italia (inter, milan, lazio, juve) so if we make our defence stronger and we keep all star players i can see know reason why we cant challenge for lo scudetto in maybe 1 or 2 years

| I read that Lazio might make a bid for Yohan Cabaye in January, I never heard of him before mainly because I don't follow French Football. He is 22 and plays for Lichstiener's former club Lille.
Is he any good? | |

| Seems as though Makinwa is keen to move away on loan.... I like the guy but I too don't see any real need for him at Lazio at the moment especially so as Pandev and Zarate are playing very well. Inzaghi looks likely to be given more chances which is great and Foggia is another option, not forgetting Rocchi who will hopefully be back from injury soon. Not to mention the youngsters like Mendicino and Kozak who I hope will be given chances this season. Makinwa Considering Bologna SwitchDespite the recent reassuring words of his agent, Makinwa seems unsettled at Lazio and may be considering a switch to another Italian club in the January transfer window. The Nigerian currently finds himself surplus to requirements as the fourth striker at his club behind Mauro Zarate, Goran Pandev and Simone Inzaghi, and with captain Tomasso Rocchi set to return from injury soon. Makinwa has found very little space in Delio Rossi’s club this season, while the Biancocelesti fans do not seem perturbed by his potential transfer away from Rome. The news of his potential departure has piqued the interest of a number of clubs in Serie A, with newly-promoted Bologna leading the pack. The Rossoblu look set to start negotiations with the Biancocelesti in order to capture the Nigerian for the second part of the season, which will most probably see Bologna struggling to avoid relegation. http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=907189 | |
