| Absolute heartbreak. Zarate and De Silvestri wasted the immense effot fo their teammates. All the rest played the way Lazio should be playing, with a lot of class and heart. Rozehnal in particular was superb in defence. Zarate needs to learn the art of simple pass and simple finish, he tries to be too flashy almost every time. Especially his chance in the second half, when he could have simply passed the ball back and left a teammate with the simplest empty net finish. | |

Muslera judged the conditions well and put in a notable performance. Rozehnal and Cribari were foolproof for 88 minutes until they got their lines wrong leaving Gilardino onside. That happens in football, I urge Rossi to stick with that combo. Matuzalem is proving to be very valuable; he presses the opposition midfield giving Ledesma the time to look for the danger and cut it out. Brocchi showed the kind of fight that makes me (and Delio) prefer him over Dabo. Zarate showed glimpse of class but glimpses of immaturity as well. Pandev showed his class at times too but didn't deliver on the whole.
All in all, this line up worked very well but one word needs to be rammed down their throats; CLINICAL. We need to be clinical, bury our chances because even without LDS, we could have won this game. Did Fiorentina deserve to win? NO. Very true. Only I think the sending off of De Silvestri was really harsh. I don't think he deserved the first yellow card - his hands weren't high and it didn't really look too much deliberate. The second yellow card is deserved (as a yellow card), and of course he was stupid to do that on a booking. However, moments ago Zarate was also dragged down so much his shirt got a hole in it and the referee didn't issue a booking. And some of the Fiorentina tackles were also very bad in comparison. In short, I think it was an undeserved sending off, even if De Silvestri can be blamed for giving the ref a chance. - Forza Lazio wrote:

We're 11th now, and I am asking a very simple question: who is to blame? (don't give me such trap like we are unlucky or that God is a romanista). - Forza Lazio wrote:

I agree with you. Specially the last chance an easy pass to Pandev and it's goal.

| The only good thing in this match was the fact that my theory that Cribari-Rozehnal is the best central defender's copy was justified. Our defence never played so well in the last 10 matches or so.
So, yeah, Rossi, you idiot, play with CRIBARI-ROZEHNAL!!!

| Basically we played good for being with 10 min after 12 minutes, would have preferred the draw.
Yes i know we are in shitty form in the league, the season is over, our only hope is coppa to play in europe next season.
But this game we showed a lot of a fight, especially defensively, i think cribari+rozenhal are great together.
Lecce should be a decisive match.

| didn't saw the game but by the posts here I'm optimistic. Another of our weaknesses is the poor finishing. It has been a problem for a couple of seasons. We create chances but we can't score. I'm also happy that Criba - Roze proved to be a good pick. Hope Rossi continues to play them. Nice to see good words for Matuzalem. FORZA LAZIO and NON MOLLARE MAI! We will beat this! | Overall a great display. Cribari and Rozendhal were great and I say stick to these two. Good that Matuzalem is back, Pandev was superb today. It will be very good if we start playing like today. Zarate was .... well if I say disappointing maybe you will think I'm too harsh so unlucky is the best word, although luck doesn't have nothing with missing three clear chances and turn the game other way around. | |

| Rozehnal and Matuzalem were absolutely magnificent. They've earned a regular spot in the team along with Meghni's previous performances.
This is one of the best games we've had all season. I have the same feeling now as I did with Rioma in a sense. A game were we huffed and puffed but couldn't blow the house down...

| BUT we can't deny that success is determined on the scoreboard not how good we actually looked. Milan and Inter didn't look great but they got the points and the first positions. So don't full yourself that we are ok coz we aren't. Uefa spot look pretty high now and teams like Plaermo, Cagliari are in front of us which I can't imagine before this season start. | |

Yeah, 9 points behind the amazing Roma. It's not over, of course. Especially when we got Juve in coppa italia semi-final, and if we pass (which we won't), then we got inter in the final. this season is not just over, but it's FUCKED UP. In fact, this season may be worse than 04/05 season.

| Good days will come again soon.. today the lads were like gladiators, a very entertaining and nice football.. LUCK and the REFEREE were against us.. that's it.. I still can't understand the referees.. Zarate's shirt was cut into pieces, yet the referee was yelling at him and didn't even give a foul! Fiorentina's player (i guess the captain) just went on playing as if nothing happened! it was unfair that lorenzo got the second yellow for a silly foul like that! I'm sad, yet optimistic.. Forza Lazio! | |

And the De Silvestri "performance" goes to show that "passion" and "grinta" only work if you're not thick in the head.

| Yeah, my friend is a Fiorentina-supporter and he said it was an embarrasing win for them and an honourable loss for us! The players did everything i asked from them, they showed the right spirit and i cant complain about anyone. Muslera did one mistake and that cost us the game.. so be it, we will be back!
The only annoying thing is that all Rossi-lovers got more air under the wings, but he is not the coach for us anyway just because the players showed heart. I bet my right hand that the players played for us, the fans, and not for Rossi so still fuck him!

| I don't see the Fiorentina goal as a Muslera mistake. The ball was skidding off the surface all game and Nestor didn't want to take a chance and attempt to catch it and mess up. Besides, our defence should have had Gila offside.
Those selection of fixtures was always going to be tough but we have a nice batch now before the derby return where we can pick up a shedload of points and be sitting pretty.

| Today I was really proud of Lazio...
When I come in here, and read some members bashing Rossi for the loss in Firenze, then I am really amazed. While I agree that Rossiīs situation hasnīt changed one bit after today, then I also think even the biggest airhead among the self declared "Rossi bashers" must admit that todays loss cannot be blamed on anything but bad luck and Lorenzo De Silvestri.
I feel sorry for the players, because their effort deserved to be rewarded on the scoreboard. But in any case, since we are in nowheres land in the middle of the table, I think today was more about getting back on track mentally and show that Lazio are still Lazio.
Unlike the losses to Cagliari, Sampdoria and Milan, I think todays loss was a lot different. Different in the sense that we fought all game, we managed to stay focused for 90 minutes, we created by far the biggest chances and for once the defence was actually solid. For me, Rozehnal was absolutely brilliant today, which I canīt remember I ever saw before. I hope that we finally found a defensive line that we can gamble on for the time being. Muslera is not a brilliant keeper in any way, but he looks a lot better than Carrizo. Kolarov fought well today and should be ahead of Radu, who has been terrible the entire season. Cribari and Rozehnal are probably the best we have right now in central defence.
The only negative thing was the red card... It was a correct decision if you look at the two incidents isolated, but I fail to see any consistency in De Marcoīs refereeing when Dainelli and even Montolivo got away with much worse freekicks than the one from De Silvestri after they had already been booked. Then it makes no sense !!! However, it doesnīt change the fact that Lollo screwed up big time and it should not be possible to be booked twice within the first 17 minutes of the game.
But ok, these things happen and even with 10 we were still by far the better team. Then you cannot ask for much more...
