Serie A: FIORENTINA-LAZIO, Sunday 08-02-09

Lazio played a friendly with Roviano yesterday and won 12-0. The line up for the first half would be a good indication as to who plays against Fiorentina I would think:

Lazio. Primo Tempo: Muslera, De Silvestri, Rozehnal, Cribari, Kolarov, Ledesma, Matuzalem, Brocchi, Mauri, Pandev, Zarate. Coach: Rossi

Radu and Carrizo played the second half with fringe players such as Inzaghi and Manfre and youth products, Tuia, Faraoni, Mendicino and Perpetuini.

Most interesting aspect of the game? Foggia bagging 5 goals in the second half (the only half he played). Proving a point anyone?

What about meghni?
One thing for sure. He still loves siis fellow Mauri instead of Foggia. And i wont be suprised not to see Meghni in the starting eleven. Its rossi

Meghni could be injured. Rossi risked him against Milan and he came off when he was perhaps the game's best player.

Lichti didn't feature either.

A very difficult game at the Franchi in Florence. Fiorentina have done well in recent weeks and are sitting higher than us in the standings. They will also have home support making the task even more hard than it is. They will also want revenge from the 3-0 crushing Lazio gave them at the beginning of the season.

Interesting why Lichtsteiner and Meghni did not play in the friendlies and nice to see the youngsters given a run around. Foggia has done well in training and deserves to start, as does Dabo ahead of Brocchi. I think Muslera should keep his place in goal for another match and then evaluate the situation further. The defense needs a shake up and so I hope Diakite starts this time because of his physique and pace. Fiorentina have a good, talented squad and the defense, and whole team in general, needs to be awake from the first minute to the last. No lapses in concentration.

If all players are available (apart from Rocchi and now that Firmani is off to Dubai) then Rossi really needs to put out a strong and determined unit of players because things need to change very soon. I hope he goes back to the 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2 and does not reemploy the trident with Inzaghi coming in.

Almost perfect, only one thing I'd like to see.. Carrizo for Muslera, why? We don't just leave the most (ever) expensive South American GK on the bench, he needs to play, and we need to give him time.. Beside that, leaving him on the bench, won't do good for him and of course to us..

I really, really hope that Mauri will start running, that Foggia and Licht learned how to cross, and that Crib and Roz learned to implement the offside trap. If not then we're in deep.

And yeah, Tuia/Faraoni/Mendicino only if we're at least two goals up.

ATM Cribari and Rozenahl are the best CB we have.. both experienced and young ( 27-28 if I'm not wrong). They just need to play a little bit often to gel with each other, although I have to say I loved the way Diakite challenged the high ball in the center of the pitch. Next - I would prefer Meghni instead of Mauri. He is more creative. FORZA LAZIOOO. We just need some confidence and we can take atleast a point for sure!

Meghni is injured and Diakite isn't called for the game so...

Rozehnal is making too many mistakes lately, hope he keeps his concentration. And Crib could do the same, less going forward, more focusing on the def.

Why is Brocchi starting ahead of Dabo in recent weeks? Foggia should definitely start - every week! Muslera has done well in the last few games he has played. Made some very good saves even though Lazio lost. I don't blame Carrizo at all but its good he is getting a bit of a rest considering he has played nearly all games this season and also he can get some confidence back and performing well. I like both keepers. Good to see Lichtsteiner back and ready but De Silvestri does well and its a shame that he will probably sit this match out. Is Diakite slightly injured or just not called up by Rossi? Hopefully Cribari and Rozehnal gel fast and form a good partnership and don't let their attackers have any space and time to fire at the keeper. I would also love to see Mendicino or any other Primavera player given their debut but perhaps this match is not the right one.

Can't wait for kick off and I really want to see 11 eagles battling for every ball.... FORZA LAZIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diakite' is injured and its been in the news for a few days now that he can't play this week so Cribari and Rozehnal will start with Alessandro Tuia on the bench.

Lichti has been our best this year but I'd start De Silvestri in this one if there's a fitness question mark. Real shame is Faraoni is also a RB and its going to be hard for him to ever break this team (esp with Angeleri possibly coming in).

For me Carrizo has been let down by his defence but he doesn't actually make saves. Only one against Siena, and he's given away about 3 penalties. Muslera has the number 1 spot now and he deserves his chance.

With the lack of striking options, why not give Mendicino a run, off the bench obviously?? He's exactly the type of striker we need and with the supply of our midfield he could be a real asset late on.

It`s too soon..but the match will be broadcasted so we`ll have to wait with half an hour or some to check them, inclusing this topic.

Anyway..i`ll be happy with a draw considering.. but i doubt. God help us !
