BIG coaches attract BIG player because they are given BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG transfer budgets. Something we cannot do, so a big name for us is useless.
that's one of the advantages, a big name coach will make Lotito to spend more..... Do you think Lotito will listen for what Delio wants after the failure of Delio's Makinwa and Lotito's big success Zarate? I affirm you that Delio was a good coach, a good motivator and in some games, a good tactician.... but the situation in the dressing room has gone in a wrong direction.. keeping him won't solve that... Coppa winning was a glass of water in the desert, but it only could stay for a moment... look at Cribari your fave player, he cries again already... Delio failed to convince the players that they were sitting on the bench for good purposes such as rotation system, a kind of strategy to win the game, or whatever... and on the contrary he made the players think that they've been kicked out of the team and look how his system screwed the players' confidence...

| I believe Lotito will give rossi the option to continue, and that the whole deal will stand or fall when the question of how much Lotito will offer for new signings will be debated between the two of them. If Rossi is to stay, he has the pressure on him that he has to perform better than the last two years, meaning at least a 6th place next year to secure a continued Europe spell, and a better standing in the league than the recent years. Next year we have one more tourney to compete in, and we have to learn from the CL year that without reinforcements we will be screwed. Also, Lotito has to guarantee that he will keep the core of the team if Rossi is to stay.
My personal opinion is not very clear. I am not sure what Rossi is capable of achieving, and I have my doubts that he can do any better than this year as Serie A has become so much more competetive recently. At the same time, I cant find a good replacement. With the cash we offer, its not like we could bring Sven Göran back...

We are a bit backeard because we have few glory days. Lazio, for me, isn't any better.
Nobody here knows the effect of the new Serie A TV rights. Seriously, that could throw us well down the table if we mess up this mercato. True my man. Fair point. We just do not know what will happen with the new tv rights. I think i heard that the Serie A rights will be sold collectivaly so everyone gets equal amount of share? Next season is very important. Paulo, keep us updated with Rossi situation please

| Supposedly, the meeting between Lotito and Rossi went well.
Claudio has apparently said that he must now evaluate if he can match Delio's demands. Presumably, these issues are things such as transfer budgets, wage demands, future goals, development of youth etc. etc.

The TV rights will be sold collectively from the 2010/2011 season onwards and there will be a more equal distribution of television revenues. According to the following article Chievo for example only earned 4 million from tv rights this season, whereas Juve and Milan earned in excess of 85 million. A collective sale would allow smaller clubs to generate more money and thus attempt as least to become more competitive. In turn I would imagine it would make in time the rights more appealing as greater competiton may generate more interest from different markets, bringing even more money in. A good move for the league in my view. http://www.footballeconomy.com/archive/archive_2009_may_01.htm

| Rossi stays, Rossi goes, seems the media can't decide right now.
As for Zenga, he would be a shock successor to Rossi. When Lotito first took over, he stated a desire to see Lazio play entertaining football. Now, I understand that winning comes first and I am sure Claudio does as well but Zenga is certainly not entertaining and whether his playing style would acheive better results than Delio's preferred method is highly debatable.
Not only this but Zenga's experience in Serie A is limited. I do rate him as a coach, he has a no-nonsense approach to the game but he is the kind of guy who could walk out the door whether his team are crowned champions or relegated. Most people are certain he is about to join a new club, possibly us, but ultimately, Catania have been diabolical in the second half of the season and I truly believe Zenga is getting out of the club before their relegation fight next season. He said something about going out on a high. To me, it smells of leaving the club when the going's good to make sure he gets another job with a competitve side.
The right man for us if Delio goes? Hard to say but I wouldn't be jumping for joy if he was appointed. Put it that way.

| Rossi has done a great job for us, and some silverware this season has been good, but maybe it is time for him to go and let someone else have a go.
But stay or go, il have fond memories of his time with us.
The Derby's, The Coppa and 3rd place finish.

| Lazio has gone abroad in their coach search. Fatih Terim the Emperor. http://www.piazzadellaliberta.it/2009/05/25/lotito-guarda-allestero-proposto-fatih-terim/Now this is first name in the list that I like. This guy is opposite from Rossi. He is the master in his own house. He can motivate the players, have lot of experience but I don't know if he is the right one. You know he doesn't want to stay in his way and he made the team by him self and that just not Lotito style. Another stupid rumor????? | |
