Cellerino is a great player, played in Rangers a chilean club. But Cellerino wont play in Lazio this season, but in Cjievo. Thats the news we have in Chile.

But i listen that Lotito wants Lucas Barrios the world scorer, he is a monster, played in Colo Colo and his prize is US$ 8 millions, also Nancy wants him. Barrios would play in Lazio if he signs.

Sell Zauri if the offer comes up. We could use him at LB but everyone knows he can't come back to Lazio with the dressing room trouble. I've heard Fiorentina dont want to make the loan permanent either. If they do, I say we sign Pasqual from them in exchange.

Bologna have a real Lazio flavour. Can't say any of those ex-Lazio players would make our starting 11 though, except Di Vaio.

Mihajlovic on the other hand is doing well on the mercato making Bologna decent side.

And here what I think about Cellerino. Rossi wants to replace Rocchi with a 6 box forward. This kid can be great, but that means 2 things:

1 Tridente although unsuccessful (as far as I'm concerned) will continue and thats Rossis tactic.
2 Rocchi will be sold either bench. IMO Rocchi is 31 and I say lets sell him while we can still get something out of him. For example next summer will be great. We all see he is not in some form this season and he misses a lot. But that only MO.

I also must mention that I'm disappointed that we start mercato with a forward instead of defender of midfilder.

Diego Lugano is a fantastic defender, similar to Paolo Montero. According to that, the fee is 6 million euro. Given our defence, I think its a worthwhile move.

edit: got a bit excited, that 6m was actually an offer we made for Aziz Yildirim.

Hope the Cellerino signing will come through, the big question here is will Lotito use the option to buy Zarate?
Hope so cause Zarate although I think he holds to much ball can grow into a top striker in serie a.

All we need now is a good central defender and we should be able to grab a 4th place this year in the summer we definately need to replace Ledesma...

If buy Cellerino will mean not buy Zarate ... no way. Lotito would be crazy

This will never happen.. it's obvious the Lottito is looking for a replacement for Rocchi for next season.. if we buy Cellerino now, he could have more than 8 months to adapt to life in the serie A..

why do we need to replace Rocchi for next season? I think he has atleast 2 more years on a competitive level with our other strikers... Celerino looks ok.. has a pace and he is solid

Macedonian striker Goran Pandev is about to sign a new deal with Lazio according to his agent; a move that acts as a reward for his good performances this season, and stops other clubs from trying to swoop for him.
Lazio striker Goran Pandev is on the verge of signing a new deal with the Rome-based club as president Claudio Lotito attempts to tie down his most prized assets.

The Macedonian hitman is being rewarded for his consistency on the pitch. Pandev was the Biancocelesti's hero against Torino in the Coppa Italia on Thursday night. The striker fired his side into the semi finals of the competition with a goal and an assist.

A number of clubs have been interested in him but his agent Carlo Pallavicino has revealed a new deal is on the way after holding talks with Lazio.

"We are ready to re-define Pandev's contract," Pallavicino told Sportmediaset.it.

"No-one has contacted me about Pandev over moving, he is fine in Rome and happy with Lazio.

"We are talking about an international star and he is always under the eye of clubs.

Diego Lugano would be a wonderful signing! He is exactely what we are lacking in defense! A really good defender and a natural leader! (Not to mention he speaks the same native language as Carrizo haha).

That would be needed, Cellerino is a good player but .... in Chile, where the football level is very low and he played in a team that is not one of the best.
Some players that were monster in Chile didnt get the same performance in Europe ... im afraid that Cellerino has not the level we need in Lazio.

relax, he's coming only for back up.. to fill in makinwa's space...

he is really young and can still develop to the serie a level...

and the most important is, we need him, someone that want to sit on the bench, a regarded quality striker doesn't want to be rotten in there for sure...

for me cellerino is a promising gambling... he could be the next amauri or german denis... who knows?

Lugano's contract will be expired in June and Lotito wants to get him for free... Don't be stupid Lotito, He won't join us in the summer unless you can beat the wage offer by milan, fiorentina or the likes...
If u get the chance just sign him right away!! he is a world class defender!!

at lalaziosiamonoi.it it says we made an official bid for him and it seems they are asking 6million euro if I'm not wrong

so let them keep him...for 5 months and then loose him for free.... IMO they will keep asking for 6m until the end of the transfer window and if no one will give them this price they will sell to the highest bidder ... or there is a chance of them being stupid and lose him for free :)

Fenerbahce want to sell him now so they get some money. Juve, Milan, Roma and Genoa are all interested too.

If we wait til summer when he is free, Milan or Juve will surely get him as they can offer 5x the wages we can.

Our only real chance is to sign him now in January IMO, and considering he's better than all of our central options now, and is a leader, think we should snap him up.

I should elaborate. Just because he plays for a regular Champions League team does not mean he is a good defender. Fenerbahce are all about the attack. For example, they have conceded 18 goals in 16 league games and the Turkish League is not even close to Serie A. Then there's a team in close proximity called Kayserispor who have only conceded 7 goals all season. Catch my drift? Lugano is at Fenerbahce because he has a tendency to score goals NOT because he is a good defender.

I disagree, he's a good defender. I've seen him play for the Uruguayan national side a few times. He is a leader, can organise the defence and has a lot of experience. He also gets under the skin of the forwards and frustrates them. Typical Uruguayan defender in a way. Plus he has a presence on set pieces and can score goals, we lack this.

Fener are all about the attack but Uruguay are a strong defensive side, and he is at the heart of this. I still think he'd take our defence to another level. Right now it isn't good enough.

Would you honestly rather Siviglia or Rozehnal ahead of him?

I'd rather have Rozehnal and Cribari. I think we already have a sturdy, set-piece specialist in Diakite so I don't know why we would want Lugano.

He has no experience in a top European league and with the greatest of respect, Fenerbahce are not worldbeaters and Uruguay probably won't make the next World Cup so I feel we are looking at a vastly overrated defender who wouldn't improve the team much, has little improvement left in him and is probably going to struggle with Italian football. So, it's a no from me, time to find a more reliable option.

I have seen Lugano play a million times and I can guarantee you he can defend, and would probably be the best of the bunch if he were to join.

I've seen him play a few times, maybe not a million times, but a few and he has looked decidedly average. When I look at players from South America who move to a league like Turkey's at a relatively mature age, I have to believe that they would have been signed by a team in the top leagues if they were any cop. I hope he does move to Italy but not to us because I belive he will bomb for someone else.

If we want to be intelligent with regards to transfers then we should wait to the summer. If Torino go down, Lotito could have some fun.
