I really don't beleive Lotito would ever bring alot of our ex stars back, he already said in the past he doesn't like to do it. Crespo is finished to me, he wouldnt be starting here and he has a hefty wage. Veron would be fine, but he would come as a direct replacement for Ledesma. Angeleri looks to be a decent purchase but he'll be a backup player here. Licht will keep the right back position.

Lotito first has to match the buy-out fee Al Sadd included in the loan. Knowing Lotito, he will probably try to bargain it down so I imagine we could have an anxious wait for Maurito to sign.

How many times have we read reports about players "about to sign", and then after a while being reached by a statement saying that the negotiations are postponed...? Pandev, Ledesma, Foggia and Mauro...all waiting to sign a deal...

Lotito pushes for Veron return

Former Lazio midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron insists that the Biancocelesti are desperate to bring him back. “Claudio Lotito calls me every fortnight.”

Veron spent the prime of his career in Serie A where he won the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Cup with Parma before joining Lazio and winning the Scudetto in 2000.

The Argentine international then moved to Manchester United and Chelsea where he flopped before returning to hometown team Estudiantes.

“I am always put in the middle of transfer speculation,” Veron told radio show La Red.

“But I want to settle things and say that I will leave in June if the club don't bring in new players.

“Lazio President Lotito calls me every couple of weeks, but I don't want to talk about that right now.

“I am also talking to River Plate because my contract will expire in the summer. However, for now I just want to stay calm.”

We need just a leader and a player like Veron! He can help our young players alot and he can be really valuable for the team!

I agree he isn't getting younger Jofo but remember Serie A is an old league which relies on experience. Young is considered 27 in Italy and old is about 35-36. Look at Milan trying to buy Beckham, it looks like it will cost them about 10m for a player a few months younger where as we would get Veron for free.

But we also can't built our midfield on one person that's about to retire. And then what, the same old problems.

Bringiing veron will not be a long term solution, but he will be very good for our midfield as he holds enough quality for a season or two..also, he can be the leader we miss in the dressing room 8and out on the pitch), he can help some of our youngsters teaching them a few things, and last but not least CURVA NORD love him!

Yes, and you never know, he may be offered a back room job once he reitres.

I would bring back Veron in a heart-beat! we really arent in a position that we have something to choose here...at the moment we are terrible and for a team we have the current table position doesnt show the true quality of our team. We are top 6 serie A quality, but we dont show that obviously.. Veron surrely isnt a long-term solution thats for sure, but I think his experiance, leadership and magic, can push our younger talents up front.

Bring Veron Back as long as it doesn't mean loosing Ledesma. I love Veron I think he's one of the best players we've ever had, and I love to see him back with us, but I doubt he could be a first team player for more than 2 years. With him in our midfield we would have a lot more creativity though and more depth in our squad, cause every time Ledesma is out we seem to struggle creating as much chances as we usually do. Also it's a free transfer and I'm sure he would agree to a salary within our capabilities. If Lotito does bring him back then it would be one of the best moves he's done on the transfer market.

I would agree bringing Veron back, he may not be the first team player more than 2 hours or so but his influence is important for the rest of the team as we lack charismatic players for years. And in other way it could redeem Lotito's sins.

the 40mil figure will include the contracts/salaries of Pandev, Ledesma and Zarate. On the whole, it's not that much.
