I knew what you were saying and apologies if it seemed like I was arguing with you but my point was Vidic disproves that theory and I can't see how playing for your favourite club can affect your performance. by the way, Slaven Bilic is being lined up for the vacant West Ham job...

by the way, Slaven Bilic is being lined up for the vacant West Ham job... He's not going anywhere. According to Croatian FA president we the FA has enough money to buy West Ham - that was his response to West ham offering 5mill € compensation to the FA.

Fair enough, yeah that makes sense, sorry mate. Back to the topic .... seeing Paolo as a coach would be great and especially at one of his former sides like West Ham. He is a fans favourite there and would get good support from everyone. Maybe he can bench Valon because he left us in such a way but his managerial inexperience would be decisive in the club making their final decision I would imagine so. The report says perhaps an assistant manager role for him would be better and I think thats true. It would be fantastic to see Paolo get either role! It will be interesting to see who West Ham appoint, and Newcastle aswell after Keegan left!

Moyes, Deschamps and Marcelino are hotly tipped but Ashley will be keen to appoint an ex-player/manager to keep the fans happy. That gives Shearer a chance of getting the job. The problem with Newcastle is Dennis Wise...little management experience and yet he is in charge of signing the players...it's why Keegan left. Donadoni is expected to become West Ham's new manager, it is speculated that he is now in England to hold talks...

Yes, but he doesn't want the job so Newcastle will have to find someone else and fast ..

| Keegan said that he quit because he had no say in which players will be brought to the club. The players that were about to join Newcastle were not his choice. It was the sporting director (Denis Wise) who decided over new recruits.
Both Keegan and Curbishley quit their posts for pretty much the same reason. But let's look at it from a different perspective. They quit the minute they realized that they don't have full control over players coming and going.
I understand that the tradition in England and Italy is different but just imagine if let's say Keegan got the opportunity to manage Inter or Milan or any other football club in Italy where the sporting director is in charge of bringing in or selling the players and very often the presidents themselves of these clubs negotiate transfers and deal with other clubs in terms of buying and selling players. How would they react then...

Paolo Di Canio has contacted West Ham about the mangerial position!!! Gianfranco Zola has been confirmed as manager of West Ham. It will be intresting to see the reaction of the West Ham fans to see a Chelsea fan favourite as their manager. ... and also interesting to see the Chelsea fans' reaction seeing one of their legends as the West Ham coach.

| And Manchester United next match in Premiership is away at Stamford Bridge. That will be three away fixtures in a row.
Not that I am complaining.

| What a cheap penalty for United today.
I am totally disgusted. They were not going to win this one for sure and then a gift from the ref.
