I read that rating too Caxi. Its pretty harsh. Ibra had a solid outing and got involved as much as he could, and scored his first Barcelona goal (hopefully many more to come). He isn't at his best yet and needs time to settle into La Liga and in his new team but I'm confident he will, and I also hope he wins over his doubters.

As for the match, nice to see Barcelona start their title defense with a good, solid result and a dominant performance - without the likes of Messi, Yaya Toure, Iniesta and Marquez playing.

Well done Barca, keep it up!

Yes, carrizo did play and Zaragoza won 1-0. Reading reports, he had a good game.

I watched the Zaragoza - tenerife game. Carrizo had a good game.

Also watched Barca - Sporting.

Im very worried about Ibra though, goal or no goal. He had a lot of chances, he looked out of place.

If he can score 20 goals in the league it would be a massive acheivement.

Give him some time. It is evident he is used to the Italian game with no room and a defender on your back constantly. Once he realises that La Liga means plenty of space, he will dominate the league...

I wouldn't agree that Carizzo had a good time, he was having terrible problems to set the defense line. Same as in Lazio.

No matter what, he kept a clean sheet.

I cant remember now, but did we loan him to Zaragoza with a set buyout sum? If so, how much?

Yep, can not recall how much though. €10 million or €12 million.

Tonight I watched the most exciting game you are likley to see this season in all competitions.

Sevilla 2-1 Real Madrid = Amazing Game. End to End. Had it all.

In contrast, i watched one of the most dullest boring games ever in Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool.

And people tell me The Premiership is more watchable than La Liga? LOLOLOL

Well said. Jesus Navas was amazing, unplayable.

If he can over-come his Chronic Home-sickness (He has stated he is doing his best) he will be an amazing weapon for Spain in South Africa.

Jesus Navas has been a tremendous player for the last 3 years and it's great to see him get some recognition for his ability. Sevilla were always going to win tonight; I think they are at least on a par with Real anyway.

I watched Barcelona - Zaragoza tonight.

Barca 6-1 Zaragoza.

Literally amazing performance.

Ibra was unreal, proper world class, 2 goals and an all round near perfect performance.

Messi equally as good, managed a nice chip to get his name on the score sheet.

Seydou keita though managed an unbelievable hatrick.

Xavi & Iniesta were immense.

Valdes showed why he is Spain's best keeper (Yes, sure is).

All this without Henry & Alves.

Amazing stuf. And to think people criticized them after the Rubin defeat.

Even the greatest teams in history loose the odd game here or there.

Last night Madrid were pretty awful. Had Sporting Gijon been a little more adventorous, they would probably have won.

Valencia pretty flawless today in a 3-0 win away at Almeria. Pablo Hernandez with a stunning display. Really turning into a top top player.

Agree all but Valdes, c'mon.

What a poor keeping from Carizzo on Ibra fk. Bloody awful.

Valdes is easily the best keeper in Spain right now. Diego Lopez is second but Casillas is nowhere...

Saw Barca as well and Ibra was ridiculously good.

Terrific performance by Barca. And well done to Keita for a getting a hat trick!

I don't think Carrizo did that badly in goal though. Made a couple of nice saves including a one on one with Messi. He couldn't do too much on most of the goals (although he should have done better with Ibra's free kick), Zaragoza's defending wasn't the best by any means.

I thought Carrizo done well also. Abel Aguilar has done well with Zaragoza so far.

The Ex-Udinese man has been terrific.

An example of 2 EX serie A struggler's doing well in Spain.

Full Time: Barcelona 1-0 Real Madrid

Ibra with a wondeful volley to score the winner just 5 minutes after coming on.

Barca = Immense
Real = A lot of work to do

Finally. Today i witnessed the best ever performance I have ever seen in any game from a defender, Carlos Puyol. Cant put into words just how unbelievable he was today.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cheers

Well done Barcelona!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even with a man extra for over 30 minutes and millions of dollars spent on new players, Real Mierda still can't beat Barca or out play for that matter (despite Barca having a very bad first half)!

jocolor

Zlatan's goal was super fucking sweet, as was Dani Alves' assist. Carles Puyol was man of the match for me (along with Pique). These guys were unbelievable in the centre of defense. At over 30 years of age Puyol has still got it. Some last minute tackles were out of this world. My favourite footballer for the last few seasons. Victor Valdes made some great saves in both halves to deny Madrid.

Madrid had their chances but didn't take them - not that I care though. All that attacking firepower gave them no returns in goal. For me there is no team in the world I hate more than Madrid (other than Merda), and Barcelona are the team I love second most after Lazio off course. So this match is always a big one for me.

VAMOS BARCAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fully agree!

Puyol was extraordinary. Sniffing out every attack, blocking every shot, commanding his defense and team. Hats off to Mr Carles Puyol.
