Xavi deserved to beat Ronaldo in the Ballon D'Or.
Cristiano is over-rated.
Yeah Ronaldo is over rated?! Especially over rated because he has scored 6 goals in 7 games for Real Madrid this season in La Liga?Is it a conicidence that Real Madrid have only dropped points in only one game Ronaldo has played this season(the game at Camp Nou)? Personally I do not think so. Like I said before if Ronaldo stays fit for the season he will be the Leagues top scorer since in Spain he is nealy averaging a goal every game.
Being humble has no bearing on how good a player. That has to be one of the most stupid things I have ever read. Being humble is part of a persons personality. Just because a person is humble means they can be the best and if a person is not humble they can never be the best? It just goes to show that you mostly prefer Messi because you do not like Ronaldo's persona.
I never said because he was humble, that means he is a better player, i was describing him as a person. I made my case for Messi being a better player in my first sentence, which you obviously couldnt disgaree with considering you never put a defence against that.
You are obviously a man utd/madrid fan. I love Barcelona because of the style of football they play, for similar reasons i like watching Arsenal. But Barca have won me over, they are the team i always want to see win everything (Lazio aside of course)
I watch almost every Barca & Madrid game on tv. There is no debating that he is Madrid's best player! Wouldnt really be to hard when you consider some of the underperforming jokes at the club. Ronaldo takes all the penalties for Madrid, free-kicks, were as Messi takes neither. Messi scores more goals from open play and outside the box. He is faster and far more skillfull.
Ronaldo is everything that is wrong with the modern game. Exagerates injuries, asks for yellow cards for the opponents.
Light years seperate them both as players and as humans.
Your first post was one to build Ronaldo up, like he was some sort of genious.
Im sorry for you that Messi has to pick up world player of the year and that yet again Real will win nothing.

OMFG ... Standard losing 0-1 to AZ for the 3rd spot in the group ... very very last sec, freekick Standard, goalie goes up front, and heads the ball unstopable in the topcorner exit AZ, Standard finish 3rd

Only the second keeper to score in the Champions League and the first from open play. The other being Butt who scored for Bayern last night, his third goal in the Cl, all of which have come against Juventus.
Interesting CL week for the statistician. Eto'o's first goal for Inter in Europe makes him the 1st African player to score for 3 different clubs.

Yeah that is what a lot of Barcelona fans say because they have an inferiority complex because deep down they know Ronaldo is better and their bitterness takes them over. These same Barcelona fans also do not support Barcelona because they love Barcelona but because they hate Real Madrid so much and Barcelona is Real Madrids rival. I find that really really sad and pathetic.
Messi is a great player and so is Ronaldo. Apples and oranges. Some people think Ronaldo is better and some think Messi is better. My opinion? Ronaldo is better.
Honestly Taib get over yourself dude, and stop with that bullshit please. Its getting lame. You act like every typical Madrid fan. You always use that stupid excuse that people only support Barca because they don't like Madrid. That's bull. Get over it. Come to think of it you are the one acting like a typical, jealous Madrid fan.
Inferiority complex? hahahahaha..... what inferiority are you talking about? That Barca have less money to spend, yet have achieved more in the last few years compared to Madrid? That they are smart and breed their players and aren't greedy, arrogant pigs like Madrid are and spend ridiculous amounts of money on players yet aren't anything special. If you ask me Madrid are the ones who are becoming inferior and bitter in the last couple of years.
Ronaldo better than Messi...... hahahahaha..... I agree Ronaldo is a brilliant player (I like the guy, nothing against him) - but for the last year or so he hasn't been as good as Messi. Where was he in the UCL final?
Messi rightly deserved his Ballon D'Or no doubt about that. His score was more than double of what Ronaldo got. That was the highest and most comprehensive win in the history of the award. So its not just me who see Messi as a better player - but others as well. Ronaldo is an individual player. Messi a team player.

Great to see Stuttgart go through, very unlucky for Urizceni though. Liege's 95th minute winner from Bolat was incredible. Unbelievably heartbreaking stuff for AZ though.

I am obviously a Manchester United fan? I am honestly insulted. Ask resident Manchester United fan NITRO or anyone that reads the Premiership thread and they would know that I support Arsenal.
I never agree but I did not write anything because in one of my previous posts I make it clear...or so I thought. Apples and oranges. It is an idiom. When you work out what it means then you would know that I do not want a "my dad is bigger then your dad" debate because they lead nowhere. I am going to repeat. Some people think Messi is the better player. Some people think Ronaldo is the better player. My opinion? Ronaldo is the better player.
I love Real Madrid. I have been watching them since the 1990s when the likes of Ivan Zamarano scores four goals against Barcelona in one game. The match finishes 5-0 to Real Madrid. Did I support Real Madrid because of that? No. Even if Real Madrid was the worst team in the country I would still support them. Real Madrid chose me just like Lazio did. Supporters like me are born with that because there is no choice. It is already predestined.
If you watch almost watch most Madrid games then you would know that this season Kaka takes the penalties not Ronaldo. For example in the game against Marseille Kaka scores a penalty. Or in the game agianst Villarreal, Kaka scores the penalty. If memory recalls correctly then Ronaldo has scored only one penalty for Real Madrid and that was against Deportivo La Coruna in the first game of the season. Obviously these matches must have slipped you by. Or maybe you do not have a good memory. Or most likely your bitterness and hatred against Ronaldo and Real Madrid blinds you and you forget.
I was making Ronaldo like some sort of genius? Oh sorry, maybe Ronaldo is some average player anad every player in the world could have scored that free kick. Silly me! Ronaldo is a footballing genius. Everybody who watches football that has some sort of semblence of a centrel nervous system can see that. He is recognised as a the best by his fellow professionals when he won the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2008 as well as the Ballon D'Or that season as well capping off a brilliant season when he scored 42 goals in all competitions and he is not even a striker. Superlatives can not just describe how good that is. Even Zidane described him as "phenomenal".
Why would you be sorry? I do not have anything against Messi. He is fantastic player and congratulations to him. I have not said one bad thing about Messi. It was you who brought him up. I do not hate Messi or Barcelona because I do not care about Barcelona. I only care about Real Madrid. What Barcelona do or achieve is irrellevent. I only care about Real Madrid which is why I only talk about Real Madrid when I am talking about Spanish football.

Yeah when fully fit Ronadlo has been taken the majority of the penlties, yes Kaka does take them, swaped about from time to time.
He took the penalties against Almeria as well as Depor.
Apples or oranges or what ever.
Case closed. I think Messi, you think Ronaldo.

And the only Italian team to do so which is suprising since Milan were first seeds and Internazionale and Juventus were second seeds while Fiorentina were third seeds. This is fantastic. I hope they get Olimpiacos in the next round. For Milan and Internazionale it looks bleak, very likely that either will get an English or Spanish team.

I wouldn't say bad luck for the italians. Bayern barely made it, and recent games in Bundesliga nad the showing against Juve shouldn't fear Fiorentina as they have shown many times that they are beatable. I look forward to these games, especially because of Milan-ManU pairing and Inter-Chelsea pairing. Both sets of teams are smug and disgusting and whoever drops out will make me happy
Just glad that milan didn't draw cska or that manu did not draw porto. Finally a fair draw.

Some reward for Fiorentina, trip to Bayern. Still, they have raised their game in Europe this season disposing of Liverpool and Lyon so they have the quality to make life hard for Bayern and go through, the key is to bring something back from Germany.
Really hard games for Inter and Milan. Still, it will be hard for Chelsea and Manchester as well.

It is a tough one to predict; there is absolutely no reason why the Milans cannot prevail.
Over the last two seasons, people seem to think the EPL sides are untouchable. Ok, over the past two years only Barca have been a match but I've seen a poor Milan side beat a better United in 2007 and Chelsea's defense is all over the place right now and they could be missing some Africans when crunch time arrives.
Sevilla are good bets in general, Bordeaux have a chance to stamp their authority and scare people while the winner of Bayern - Fiorentina will become the immediate underdog. I'm tempted to plump for the Viola.
