Considering he is stuck with us as much as we are stuck with him, considering he lost his court battle with Lotito and therefore the president holds the winning hand and considering he wants to stay here in his words? Yes, his demands should be lower and arguably he should have signed the contract by now. I don't get the guy or rather his agent. I understand why he wants 1.8mil but Toto Di Natale gets 1mil a year. THis bunch have to stop being greedy because none of them played like champs last season.

| Unless we have a realistic replacement lined up, which is extremelly doubtful, then we should be looking to negotiate a fair deal for both parties - Ledesma has been important for a long time now and if he is open to staying now we should try to make that happen. How much are our other main men on now? Floccari must be on a fair bit too.. I don't know what the compromise is but I hope they reach it soon. | |

| Final push is to be expected. One "good" offer from Lotito that will make it, or break it.... | |

| From what I've read, Ledesma has rejected the contract offer but will not be frozen out of the squad, according to lotito.
Can anybody confirm this?

| Correct, rejected a contract believed to be in the region of 1.5 million having previously demanded 1.8 but Lotito has stressed that he is a Lazio player and that won't change as a result of negotiations. | |

| Ledesma is very important for Lazio, if he could sign a 4-5 year deal we have a top player for a quite long time wich would be sweet.
If Mauri plays like he did last season as well our middfield looks quite good for at leat two positions for a few years from now.

| Ledesma's in his plans for the NT but he might not find a place in the final choice for the team which will go to England to play against Cote d'Ivoire but I'm quite happy that Lippi's gone and now other players who aren't playing in Juventus will get their chance. | |

| They should offer Ledesma the same as Hernanes, start at 1.5m then rise to 1.8 in 2 years. | |

We can't force Ledesma to sign a new contract, you know. Lotito already f@cked up by freezing Ledesma last season, now I suspect the latter doesn't want to have anything to do with us if he can help it, so no amount of money will tempt him to extend his contract.

Many Romans do not like Ledesma in the slightest. Two seasons ago, the majority in this forum wanted to kill him but in a straight fight with Lotito, he wins every time...except in the courts because he was frozen out legitimately although we may never know why.
