| I have been anti Ledesma this whole season. But yesterday he for played for the first time with some passion, instead of standing there like a idiot. I hope he will improve now since he have been good the last 2 games..but if not sell him. | |

Just wondering, not attacking, what in him you saw that showed passion? Only because he threw himself into every challenge doesnt make you devoted and passionate. I think his actions yesterday rather showed stupidity; he should have stopped his behaviour straight afetr he got that early booking. In all honesty, he could have been red carded a lot earlier than he was...

| I wasn't totaly angry by his red card because at least he was really going for it. It reminded of the 3-2 derby last season when he was so fired up, i've not seen him like that in a while. I have been criticising him all season, but I have to admit that he does a good job defensively and it would be difficult for him to be a solid playmaker while he has to defend so much. | |

I think "really going for it" when you have a yellow, when you have been giving away foul after foul and when you have been given a warning to calm down is not passionate, but stupid. Defensively he is doing a great job these days, no doubt, but if that is his main "job", it is better to field Dabo and go for some wide midfielders together with brocchi/dabo. Our game is based on ledesma passing the ball, being creative, linking back line with fron line, and if we cannot ask for that we should not field him either. I must admit though, that part of his failure is based on Rossi's tactics having no proper trequartista but rather three strikers with no support (maybe that was Mauri's job?).

| I want Ledesma's situation to be resolved as soon as possible. His agent is really getting on my nerves, he just keeps saying that he doesn't want to decide now but rather in June. Come on! If Ledesma wants to stay then fine, give him a new contract. If not Lotito should sell his ass ASAP.
The information in the media say that Juve offered us 6 million and Marchisio. I would accept it. We would get a very good young Italian player who would play on the left (in stead of Mauri) and Lotito can use the 6 million to buy out either Matuzalem's contract or if he and Rossi decide that Matuzalem is too injury prone then they should go and find someone else (to be the new regista).

I know this has been up for debate a few times, but i think that we need to find a replacemnt during the winter mercato and then let go of him in the summer. His agent is a snake, and he is creating problems, and I think that Lotito should have negotiated for a good deal with him until now if we really wanted to keep him. Latest comment (read the link) says he will not go during January, but that it is 50-50 that he will leave in the summer. We need to prepare for a game without him, dont you think???

I think with hindsight, Lotito has done the right thing. I can bet my bottom dollar that Lotito and his associates have been scouring the planet for a cheaper, more affordable and better replacement. If they find one, Ledesma will be sold in the forthcoming summer. If not, he will sign a new contract. Personally, I believe he has no intention of leaving Lazio but just wants a better deal which I wouldn't begrudge him. The best time to sell him is the summer. He is the focal point of the side, if we sold him next week per se, we would finish in the bottom half of the table no matter who we bring in. It would just be an inevitability. No point bringing in a successor now. He wouldn't settle in if occupying the bench. I would deal with this case once the season has ended. All I would do in the meantime is pinpoint realistic targets that could succeed him.

Seriously, at this time we can only "get rid" of Ledesma if we can get an excellent sub. Not some "hopeful" or "talent" but an established DM.
I'm not ecstatic about Ledesma but he isn't half bad either, what probably bothers us all are his occasional flop games, but more often than not he's one of the best players on the pitch, when he gives his best of course.

| Ditto. Ledesma ain't the most spectacular player, and yeah, he does have some dips in form, but I think a lot of what he does holds us together. Is he the best at his position? Not at all. For now, I'm happy with him doing some of our dirty work and chipping in the occasional goal. | |

| Ledesma is a Xavi/Cambiasso type figure. I know he is not as good as those players but he does a similar job, chips in in defence, helps instigate attacks and does all the dirty work. What we need to do is find 2 players to sit alongside him and form a unit. | |

| Lippi looks at Ledesma Wednesday 14 January, 2009 Marcello Lippi could offer Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma an Azzurri call-up before he commits his international future to Argentina. Ledesma has an Italian passport and could follow in Mauro Camoranesi's footsteps by representing the Azzurri. Reports in the Corriere dello Sport claim that Lippi is considering giving Ledesma the chance to play for Italy against Brazil next month. Ledesma would be useful cover for Roma star Daniele De Rossi, giving Lippi more options in his selection. However, Argentina Coach Diego Maradona is an admirer of the midfield talent and has declared that he is considering Ledesma for his next squad to take on France. While Ledesma has never played for the senior Argentina team, he did represent his native country at Under-17 level. The situation is similar to the tug-of-war between Italy and Brazil to secure the services of Juventus striker Amauri. http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jan14f.html Is this a joke??? "I'm sorry Pirlo, but you will be on the bench tonight, I am going with the ever consistant Ledesma!" Mamma mia! Please don't lose your identity Italy, don't become a France and keep Ledemsa and Amauri to their respective countries. Camoranesi was an exception, at least he has Italian blood, but I'm no way in favour of new citizens being able to represent another country. Maybe next year I'll move to Brazil and audition for the Selecao! | |

Hahaha exactly, Ledesma is one of those players that gives me the flip sometimes because of his laziness. In my opinion, Ledesma is the hardest working player we have. He wouldn't play the position he does if he was lazy, in fact, he wouldn't play at all. The guy not only has to run between defence and attack but he also has to weigh up situations more than any of our players. If we're being hit on the counter, Ledesma has to think about where he will run, what he will do, how he can rectify the situation, how he can turn defence into counter. He's not lazy, not in the slightest.
